A work-order board instead of a notebook
Every order is a work order that moves through stages: received, diagnosis, awaiting parts, in progress, ready, delivered. You see the entire workshop on one board: what's in progress, what's waiting on hardware, what's ready for pickup. Nothing gets lost, and any staff member can see the status of any order.
Item card, measurements, and photos
Each work order is linked to an item card (coat, dress, shoes) with a description, measurements, and photos. Measurements are stored in the order, not on a scrap of paper; photos record the item's condition at intake — which ends disputes like "that damage was already there."
A quote with client approval
Before work begins, the client should see the price. MCC generates a quote with line items (labor + parts), sends it to the client, who then approves it online by confirming their full name. The approved quote turns into an invoice — no more "we never agreed to that amount" disputes.
Hardware stock and staff payouts
Zippers, buttons, thread, fabric — that's stock that gets written off into work orders. And staff pay works the same way as in a salon: commission or seat rental, with a transparent payout statement. This way the owner sees both the cost of materials and each employee's earnings.
Status updates for clients and receipt printing
When an order moves to "Ready," the client can automatically get a message (email, or Telegram if you have a bot) that the item is ready for pickup. At intake, a work-order receipt prints out listing the work and the total. An online order form on your website lets you take requests before the visit even happens.
